Salvador Carnival 2025 officially begins this Thursday, February 27, and runs until March 4, celebrating 40 years of Axé Music. The official opening will take place at Circuito Osmar (Campo Grande) at 3:30 pm, with a special tribute that brings together artists such as Carlinhos Brown, Margareth Menezes, Daniela Mercury, Olodum and Ilê Aiyê.
Over the six days of the festival, more than 700 acts will perform on the official circuits, including Osmar (Campo Grande), Dodô (Barra-Ondina) and Batatinha (Pelourinho), totaling more than 2,500 hours of music. Highlights include Ivete Sangalo, who will lead the Coruja Block on the Dodô Circuit, and Bell Marques, who will lead the Vumbora Block.
In addition to the traditional electric trios and blocks, this year’s Carnival will feature themed stages and parties in nine neighborhoods of Salvador, expanding the celebration to several communities.
